Believe it or not I’m a Marketing Manager for a software company and until today I didn’t even know what a blog was!!

it’s amazing what people say….

… but then they wonder off & go and do this…

i’ve discovered pageflakes

i looked at pageflakes over 12 months ago, and it seemed interesting but not quite polished.

It turns out that they have been busy bunnies – the latest version is super groovy. More than that, it turns out that it may even be useful!

It’s OK, i’m not about to launch off into a pointless discussion about blog definitions, but it does make you think. It certainly made me think about the whole swathes of the population who haven’t got a fucking clue about blogs & who have only just grasped what the internet actually is… Yet rave about how cool facebook is!

<insert something really deep and philosophical here>

It’s all about focus, I mean i’m a bloody idiot when it comes to sending texts (that an SMS, if you are reading this from the States) from a mobile phone… but to some sending TXTs (I think that’s the right ‘term’) is a vital way of life.

I guess you either see blogs as a vital source of knowledge, or just another internet waste of space….

at last – someone takes a stand against Paris Hilton!

i don’t normally just link to stuff, but i stumbled across this and think that it is just gr8!

i can’t understand the fascination that people seem to have with paris hilton, i mean she ain’t even attractive!

thankfully, this female presenter (MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski) took a stand… wonderful!

the bbc, holby city, 1961, and a werewolf called oliver

there i was, watching Hoby City with my wife (honestly i was forced to watch it ), and an old actress stumbles onto the program. Her character is called Lily Sinclair, and claims to have acted with Oliver Reed in the 1961 classic, The Curse of the Werefolf.

Ok, so that got me thinking, was this for real? To add to the intrigue, one of the characters actually goes onto the ‘net & you see a flash of Lily’s website, that does indeed show a reference to the 1961 classic.

Easy, I thought, I’ll just go onto IMDB & do a search…

So, I find The Curse of the Werewolf (1961), starring Oliver Reed– which is actually a very good film; I recommend it — trouble is, although it does list the cast, there is only a photo against Oliver Reed. Additionally, there is no mention of an actress called Lily Sinclair. Mmmm… OK, so perhaps ‘Lily Sinclair’ really is just a Hoby City character name, and she is (in real life) called something else; perhaps one of the female actresses in the film.

After some searching, i managed to find a fan website for the film, which does actually have photos of all of the cast… bingo! – i’ve found here; and Actress called Yvonne Romain. Her photo does kinda look like ‘Lily’ in Holby too….. job done.

Flushed with my success, I thought i’d just check the scrolling credits at the end of the episode and would see Yvonne Romain…… and…. oh… the actress if called Sian Phillips …

ok – back to IMDB and… oh, that’s where i’ve seen her – she was in Dune. But her first film wasn’t until 1962…

So, what we have here is the writers of Holby City being clever….

Why do Cats Shit in my Garden?

OK – i know that i’m not exactly an animal lover, but i’ve never
thought if harming an animal before. That is slowly starting to change…

For what seems like years, Cats have been shitting in my garden, and i’m getting more and more hacked off about it.

It’s not just the smell, but it’s the fact that Cat Shit spreads some very nasty diseases, including some which can make a child go BLIND!

Short of lead poisoning (where the lead is deliverd in the form of a bullet), does anyone have any ideas?!

if i can get the Cat shitting on film, then my next plan is to work out where it lives, then collect up all the Shit & leave it for the ‘owners’

the BBC panorama is turning to the Daily Mail

i’m still worked up by that fucking panorama program about wifi signals being dangerous…. talk about one-sided?!

i especially liked it when they put sounds to the radio waves, and made it look like a Gieger Counter … somehow made it look like Radiation….

As someone said, if you are using a wifi enabled laptop in the sun, then you should really sit in the shade, since the sun will to much more damage!

the more i watch that programme, the more i think that it is just trying to pander to middle england and trying to be sensational at the same time.

also, have you noticed each Monday (?) that the BBC use the News as a platform for promoting the programme?

oh yeah – microwave ovens use radio waves, and if you put you head in them it may hurt… perhaps we should band children from standing within 100 yards of them…?!
